How to Calculate MDCAT Aggregate in 2026
Updated
To calculate your MDCAT aggregate, take 50% of your MDCAT percentage, 40% of your FSc percentage and 10% of your Matric percentage, then add them. PMDC's 2026 admission regulations fix these weights. Example: MDCAT 160/180, FSc 1020/1100 and Matric 1050/1100 give 44.44 + 37.09 + 9.55 = 91.08%. Official source
What is the MDCAT aggregate formula in 2026?
The MDCAT aggregate formula is set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), not by each university. Regulation 6(3) of the PM&DC Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct Policy and Regulations 2026 says the admitting university shall build the merit for public colleges as:
| Part | Weight |
|---|---|
| MDCAT | 50% |
| FSc (pre-medical) / HSSC / equivalent | 40% |
| Matric / SSC / equivalent | 10% |
The 2026 regulations apply to admissions for session 2026-27. The Admissions Regulations 2025 used the same 50/40/10 weights (regulation 4(3)), so the 2025 closing merits on our MDCAT merit list are on the same scale as this year's aggregates.
How to calculate your MDCAT aggregate step by step
- MDCAT share: divide your MDCAT marks by the total marks and multiply by 50. MDCAT 2025 had 180 questions with no negative marking, as PMDC announced in its MDCAT 2025 syllabus notice.
- FSc share: divide your FSc marks by your board's total and multiply by 40.
- Matric share: divide your Matric marks by the total and multiply by 10.
- Add the three shares. The sum is your aggregate out of 100.
Example: MDCAT 160, FSc 1020, Matric 1050
| Part | Calculation | Share |
|---|---|---|
| MDCAT | 160 ÷ 180 × 50 | 44.4444 |
| FSc | 1020 ÷ 1100 × 40 | 37.0909 |
| Matric | 1050 ÷ 1100 × 10 | 9.5455 |
| Aggregate | 91.08% |
91.08% was below every Punjab public MBBS college in 2025 (lowest final closing 93.51%) but above the final 2025 closing merit of every private MBBS college in the UHS list (highest 90.84%). Use the MDCAT aggregate calculator to do this for your own marks.
Which part of the formula matters most?
MDCAT carries half the aggregate, so each MDCAT mark out of 180 is worth about 0.28 aggregate points (50 ÷ 180). One FSc mark out of 1100 is worth about 0.036 points (40 ÷ 1100), and one Matric mark about 0.009 points. Because Matric and FSc are already fixed when you sit MDCAT, your MDCAT score is the only part you can still change. Ten more MDCAT marks add about 2.8 points, which in 2025 was more than the whole gap between the highest and lowest public MBBS colleges in Punjab (1.36 points).
Does the formula differ between provinces or for private colleges?
The 50/40/10 weights in the PMDC regulations apply to public colleges everywhere. The admitting university in each province (UHS in Punjab, for example) runs the merit list, and the regulations name NUMS as the admitting university for Armed Forces colleges. Always read your admitting university's admission notice for documents, quotas and deadlines.
Common mistakes
- Using the wrong MDCAT total. Use the total printed on your MDCAT result.
- Using FSc Part-I marks out of 550 with a total of 1100. The marks and the total must match.
- Rounding too early. Keep four decimals until the end; UHS publishes aggregates to four decimals.
Frequently asked questions
Who decides the MDCAT aggregate formula?
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) sets it in its admission regulations. Admitting universities such as UHS apply it when making merit lists.
Has the MDCAT formula changed for 2026?
No. The 2026 regulations keep the same weights as 2025: 50% MDCAT, 40% FSc and 10% Matric.
How many aggregate points is one MDCAT mark worth?
With MDCAT out of 180, one mark is worth about 0.28 aggregate points (50 divided by 180).
Can I use FSc Part-I marks?
Use marks and a total that match. If you only have Part-I marks, enter them with the Part-I total; the admitting university's notice says which marks it accepts.
MDCAT aggregate ka formula kya hai?
MDCAT 50%, FSc 40% aur Matric 10%. Har subject ke marks ko total se divide karein, weight se multiply karein aur jama kar lein.
Aik MDCAT mark se aggregate kitna barhta hai?
180 marks ke paper mein aik mark se taqreeban 0.28 aggregate barhta hai, is liye MDCAT ke 10 marks taqreeban 2.8 points ka farq daalte hain.
Asaan alfaaz mein (Roman Urdu)
PMDC ka formula seedha hai: MDCAT ka 50%, FSc ka 40%, Matric ka 10%. Misaal: MDCAT 160/180, FSc 1020/1100, Matric 1050/1100 ho to aggregate 91.08% banta hai.
