PMDC formula: 50% MDCAT + 40% FSc + 10% Matric
Updated
The MDCAT aggregate for 2026 = 50% MDCAT + 40% FSc (pre-medical) + 10% Matric, as fixed by PMDC's admission regulations. Divide each score by its total, multiply by its weight and add: 150/180 MDCAT, 1000/1100 FSc and 1000/1100 Matric give 87.12%. Enter your marks below to get yours. Official source
| Part | Weight | Usual total marks |
|---|---|---|
| MDCAT | 50% | 180 |
| FSc / HSSC | 40% | 1100 |
| Matric / SSC | 10% | 1100 |
How is the MDCAT aggregate calculated?
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) fixes one aggregate formula for admission to public medical and dental colleges: MDCAT 50% + FSc (pre-medical) or HSSC 40% + Matric or SSC 10%. It is set in regulation 6(3) of the PM&DC Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct Policy and Regulations 2026, and the same weights were used in the Admissions Regulations 2025. UHS uses this formula for MBBS and BDS admissions in Punjab.
Each part is turned into a percentage of its total marks and multiplied by its weight:
- MDCAT share = MDCAT marks ÷ MDCAT total × 50
- FSc share = FSc marks ÷ FSc total × 40
- Matric share = Matric marks ÷ Matric total × 10
Your aggregate is the sum of the three shares. MDCAT 2025 had 180 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking (PMDC MDCAT 2025 syllabus notice), so the calculator starts with 180 as the MDCAT total. If your board marks FSc or Matric out of a different total (for example 1200), type that total in the "out of" box.
Worked example
A student has 150/180 in MDCAT, 1000/1100 in FSc and 1000/1100 in Matric.
| Part | Marks | Weight | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| MDCAT | 150 / 180 | 50% | 41.6667 |
| FSc | 1000 / 1100 | 40% | 36.3636 |
| Matric | 1000 / 1100 | 10% | 9.0909 |
| Aggregate | 100% | 87.12% |
With 87.12%, this student is below every public MBBS college in Punjab in 2025 (the lowest final closing merit was 93.51%), but above the 2025 final closing merit of several private MBBS colleges. Check each college on the MDCAT merit list.
How much MDCAT score do you need for a public MBBS seat?
In the 2025 final selection list, the lowest open-merit closing aggregate in a Punjab public medical college was 93.51% (Narowal Medical College) and the highest was 94.87% (King Edward Medical University). With 1050/1100 in both FSc and Matric, your FSc and Matric shares add up to 47.73, so you would need at least 165/180 in MDCAT to pass 93.51%. These are last year's figures; the 2026 merit will depend on this year's MDCAT results and seats. Full figures: MBBS closing merit 2025.
Is the formula different for private colleges and other provinces?
The PMDC regulations set the 50/40/10 weights for public colleges in every province. UHS used the same aggregate for its central admissions to private medical and dental colleges in Punjab in 2025, which is why private-college closing merits on our merit list are on the same scale. Armed Forces colleges admit through NUMS, which the regulations name as the admitting university for those colleges.
