Ali Ahmad, founder and editor of Apna Merit
Ali Ahmad is the founder and editor of Apna Merit. He started the site to put each Pakistani university's official aggregate formula and closing merits in one place, with the official source next to every number.
What he does on Apna Merit
- Finds the official prospectuses, admission notices and merit lists of each university, UHS and PM&DC, and keeps the list on the data sources page.
- Checks every aggregate formula against the official document before a calculator goes live, and every closing merit against the official list it comes from (methodology).
- Updates the merit lists during the admission season, for example the MDCAT merit list, UET merit list, PU merit list and KU merit list, and the UHS admission schedule.
- Answers correction requests. A reported mistake is checked against the source and fixed within 48 hours (editorial policy).
What he does not do
Apna Merit does not publish estimated or "expected" merits, does not take payment from universities or colleges, and stores program-level figures only, never student names or CNIC numbers. It is not affiliated with any university, UHS, PM&DC or HEC.
